The facility was built from the ground up in 1995 and covers roughly 120,000 square feet across 31 acres, with one production area dedicated to flour products and another to corn-based items. Mexican Original is the second-largest flour and corn tortilla manufacturer in the country, supplying quick-service restaurant chains. Portland is the county seat of Jay County in eastern Indiana, a small city of about 6,300 people roughly 100 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

ABOUT TYSON FOODS
Tyson Foods began in 1935 when John W. Tyson started hauling chickens for sale from Arkansas, incorporating in 1947 and going public in 1963. It grew through acquisitions, including IBP in 2001, which added large-scale beef and pork processing, and Hillshire Brands in 2014, adding Jimmy Dean and Ball Park to its own Tyson, Hillshire Farm, Wright Brand, Aidells, and State Fair brands. By fiscal 2025, Tyson operated roughly 200 facilities worldwide, employed about 133,000 people, and reported $54.4 billion in revenue. It trades publicly on the NYSE under ticker TSN, while the Tyson family retains majority voting control through a dual-class share structure.
