THE QUICK READ
The AdvancePierre Foods Willow plant in Enid, Oklahoma produces raw sandwich meat, with capacity to turn out about 70 million pounds per year. The facility sits adjacent to AdvancePierre's larger Enterprise plant and a distribution center that ships product from both Enid plants across the country. Tyson acquired AdvancePierre in 2017, bringing the Willow operation into its prepared-foods division. Its ammonia refrigeration system holds roughly 45,900 pounds, well above the 10,000-pound threshold that triggers a federal process safety management program. Enid is a city of about 51,000 people in northwest Oklahoma, roughly 90 miles north of Oklahoma City.

By fiscal 2025, Tyson operated roughly 200 facilities worldwide, employed about 133,000 people, and reported $54.4 billion in revenue.
