Williams Sausage Company, now a Tyson subsidiary, makes fresh and fully cooked sausage, bacon, and sandwiches at its plant in Union City, Tennessee, supplying more than 4,000 retail outlets and foodservice customers across 20 states. Harold and Hazel Williams founded the company in 1958, and it grew to roughly 500 employees before Tyson acquired it in 2023 for about $200 million. In 2017 the company built a second facility in Obion County with a distribution center and a new sandwich production line. Union City is the county seat of Obion County in northwest Tennessee, a small city of about 11,000 people near the Kentucky border.

ABOUT TYSON FOODS
Tyson Foods began in 1935 when John W. Tyson started hauling chickens for sale from Arkansas, incorporating in 1947 and going public in 1963. It grew through acquisitions, including IBP in 2001, which added large-scale beef and pork processing, and Hillshire Brands in 2014, adding Jimmy Dean and Ball Park to its own Tyson, Hillshire Farm, Wright Brand, Aidells, and State Fair brands. By fiscal 2025, Tyson operated roughly 200 facilities worldwide, employed about 133,000 people, and reported $54.4 billion in revenue. It trades publicly on the NYSE under ticker TSN, while the Tyson family retains majority voting control through a dual-class share structure.
