THE QUICK READ
Mountaire Farms operates a chicken slaughter and processing plant in Millsboro, Delaware, where crews move live birds through kill lines and cutting lines to produce raw chicken products. The plant runs ammonia refrigeration to hold product at safe temperatures through each production stage. In early 2026, Mountaire sought state approval to increase weekly throughput at its on-site resource recovery operation, which converts leftover carcasses and feathers into feed ingredients.
