ABOUT LEPRINO FOODS
Leprino Foods traces to 1950, when Mike Leprino Sr. began making mozzarella at his family's corner grocery store in Denver, Colorado. His son Jim Leprino took over as chairman and chief executive in 1972 and built the company into the world's largest mozzarella cheese manufacturer, also producing lactose and whey protein. As of 2025 Leprino employs more than 5,500 people across plants in the United States, United Kingdom, and other countries, with reported annual revenue near $3 billion. The company remains privately held and family-owned, still headquartered at its original Denver site.
