Americold, Amarillo - Plant #8408
Not affiliated with Americold Logistics.
THE QUICK READ
The Texas Panhandle is cattle country, and Americold's Amarillo warehouse reflects that with a 38,750-pound ammonia refrigeration system, one of the larger charges in its network of smaller facilities. The warehouse employs around 20 people and handles frozen and refrigerated products near some of the largest concentrated cattle feeding operations in the United States. Amarillo's position on Interstate 40 makes it a hub for moving temperature-controlled beef and other proteins east and west.
