Universal Pure was founded in 2001 in Lincoln, Nebraska as a cold storage warehouse. The company added high pressure processing services in 2011 and now processes food, beverage, and pet food products for clients seeking longer shelf life without added preservatives. Universal Pure grew through acquisitions including Hydrofresh HPP in 2022, Texas Food Solutions in 2023, and Dora's Naturals in 2025. Aurora Capital Partners acquired the company in 2022 from prior owner Tilia Holdings.
