ABOUT SANDERSON FARMS PROCESSING INC. TYLER PROCESSING DIVISION
D R Sanderson Sr founded the company in 1947 as a feed and seed store in Laurel, Mississippi, and it grew into a fully integrated poultry producer that processes, markets, and distributes fresh and frozen chicken and prepared foods. The company went public in 1987 and became a major poultry processor with plants across the southeastern United States. In 2022 Cargill and Continental Grain acquired Sanderson Farms for 4.5 billion dollars and merged it with Wayne Farms to form Wayne-Sanderson Farms, a privately held company based in Oakwood, Georgia.
