THE QUICK READ
NewCold's McDonough facility is an automated high-bay warehouse that stores and ships food products for producers distributing across the Southeast. Seven stacker cranes — machines that run on rails between racks up to 139 feet tall — move pallets without forklifts, while technicians maintain the cranes, conveyors, and refrigeration equipment. The $333 million campus opened in 2024 and is expanding with a frozen warehouse that brings the site to 210,000 total pallet positions.
