THE QUICK READ
Mulberry Farms Inc. has run beef, pork, and chicken through its plant in Gainesville, Georgia — known as the Poultry Capital of the World — since the family opened the doors in 1980. The operation holds dual USDA establishment numbers for both meat and poultry, turning out custom cuts and retail-ready packs for restaurants and grocers across the region. It is a small plant, around 100 workers, built around minimally processed product with no preservatives or fillers. More than four decades in one of the country's heaviest poultry corridors says something about staying power.
