THE QUICK READ
Agile Cold Storage's Macon plant stores and ships frozen and refrigerated food and pharmaceutical products, using multiple temperature zones including a deep-freeze area. Techs here keep refrigeration and automation systems running, not a production line, and the site ships by truck, rail, or container. It holds roughly 10,500 pounds of ammonia — large enough to require a formal process safety management program, since federal rules kick in at 10,000 pounds. The 275,000-square-foot warehouse opened in 2024, close to I-16, I-75, and the port of Savannah.
