Specialist II - Materials Management About Site Catalent’s Madison, Wisconsin site is a state‑of‑the‑art biologics development and manufacturing facility supporting customers from research through early‑ and mid‑stage clinical production. Located at 726 Heartland Trail in Madison, the approximately 102,700‑square‑foot GMP facility specializes in mammalian cell line engineering, drug substance biomanufacturing, and biopharmaceutical development, utilizing flexible single‑use systems to enable rapid scale‑up and customization. The site is home to Catalent’s proprietary GPEx® and GPEx® Lightning technologies, which are used to generate high‑yielding mammalian cell lines for biologic therapies, and supports production scales ranging from 50 to 4,000 liters for clinical manufacturing. Following a $45 million expansion announced in 2025, the Madison site has significantly increased capacity, added new equipment, and created approximately 200 highly skilled biohealth jobs, further strengthening its role within Catalent’s global biologics network and Wisconsin’s growing life sciences ecosystem. Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Specialist II - Materials Management to join our team. The role is responsible for warehouse management, inventory control, work order management, incoming receipts, and domestic and international shipments of all items for Madison. This department follows approved materials SOPs for the Madison site. The Materials Management Team supports other departments in all materials needs, including staging materials for manufacturing. Shift: Monday - Friday - 8 am - 4 pm Location: Madison, WI 100% Onsite The Role Support TrackWise projects assigned to Materials Management, including immediate actions, impact/risk assessments, investigations, and root cause analysis. Manage material replenishment activities, including lab replenishment reports, inventory control, and material picking, stocking, verification, identification, and delivery using FEFO principles. Support warehouse and facility operations, including freezer/cooler preventive maintenance activities and column crating processes as required. Process material requests and purchase orders, including Uline requests, while communicating, maintaining, and resolving PO-related issues in a timely manner. Accurately pick, pack, ship, and document customer orders to meet fulfillment requirements and ensure inventory accuracy. Provide cross-functional support across Materials Management by leveraging cross-training to assist in other operational areas as needed. Mentor, train, and support new Materials Management team members and Level I employees to promote knowledge transfer and team development. Perform other duties as assigned. The Candidate Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years of relevant work experience in a warehouse environment is required Prior experience operating warehouse equipment Handheld scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in warehouse and cold storage environments Preferred Skills Background Prior cold storage material handling and alarm system monitoring preferred Prior pharmaceutical or food manufacturing/processing, cGMP experience Prior computerized inventory management system, JD Edwards knowledge preferred Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver s license. Ability to operate company owned transport vehicle as requested. Prior DOT and IATA training preferred; Internal training required Knowledge of International documentation compliance, INCO Terms, CI, HTS code, SLI and DG Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook, and Teams experience required Proven ability to multi-task and demonstrate diplomatic skills Effective communication skills , Ability to work effectively in a team environment and Proactive initiative/mindset to foresee needs and value-added support/consideration.
