Responsibilities Job Summary: As a Site Reliability Engineer I, you'll use your engineering skills to maximize reliability, availability, and efficiency of our systems, and improve workflow, automation, and scalability. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Design & Development: Collaborates with development teams to understand system designs and reliability requirements. Identifies potential failure points and design improvements to code and infrastructure for higher reliability. Develops and maintains software tools for environment monitoring and task automation, leveraging a deep understanding of software development principles. Participates in on-call rotations, investigating and remediating alerts while contributing to postmortems. Proactively suggests enhancements to configuration and code to improve system health. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: Experience in at least one of the following - similar languages: Python - Java - Go - Rust - Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong understanding of software engineering principles - Knowledge of distributed systems principles and network protocols, and how they impact software design and scalability. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Effective collaboration with mentors, developers, and operations. - Analytical, problem-solving skills and a passion for automation: Demonstrating eagerness to learn troubleshooting techniques and a basic understanding of automating repetitive tasks. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced technical environment with increasing support demands and complexity. - Ability to manage tasks and prioritize under supervision, aiming to meet SLAs/SLOs: Understanding work prioritization under guidance, recognizing their impact on reliability goals. - Eagerness to collaborate, learn, and contribute within a strong software engineering culture. - Education: in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience - Licenses/Certifications: Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment Travel by car or plane with overnight stays Work extended hours; sit for extended periods; work rotating and on-call schedules The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
