Position Title: Boiler and Refrigeration Operator BRD Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Grade: Scale 14_UFCW Requisition ID: 42964 B&R Operator . About the role . McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Boiler and Refrigeration Operator, to work a 12-hour [day/night] shift at the Burley, Idaho plant. Responsibilities include operation, repair, and basic troubleshooting of Boiler Room and Refrigeration Systems, performing daily PM and repair procedures of boilers and refrigeration equipment and assisting with installation of equipment as needed. Operator responsibilities also include the use of P& ID’s, OEM manuals, log entries, and work documentation. Accountabilities: Performs PM and basic maintenance work as needed or directed by the B&R Supervisor or Lead Person to repair and adjust B&R equipment. Serves as a Team Player assisting other personnel to carry out their duties. Participates in training for the department. Operates and maintains required license for forklift and scissor-lift. Owns proper tools for the job as specified by the company. Communicates problems or changes in department to supervisor and appropriate personnel. Attends and participates in all annual, departmental, and job specific required training and monthly informational meetings. Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation. Instructs others to keep areas clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). Builds and promotes a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Facility, and the Company. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of steam and ammonia systems. Previous boiler and ammonia refrigeration experience helpful. Must provide documentation of any experience in a related field. Must pass ammonia and refrigeration job skills test. Knowledge of Boiler and Refrigeration air systems is preferred. Skills: Understands testing procedures on boilers, water softeners, RO unit, condensers, refrigeration and ensures proper reports and records are developed. Documents work and PM, generates work orders in the computerized maintenance system (CMMS) detailing the events of the day and logging information about machine condition. Assists with installation and capable to operate all machines and equipment such as fans, motors, associated piping and related B&R equipment and components. Diagnosis of malfunctioning apparatus such as boiler systems, pumps, motors, and shaft bearings and replacement of damaged or broken components. Uses technical tools and instruments to operate, repair, and adjust the boiler, and ammonia refrigeration. Assists with workload while carrying out instructions with replacement of faulty mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of machines and equipment related to this position .
