Maintenance Mechanic, Encapsulation About Site Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100 products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network. Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic, Encapsulation to join our team. In this role, you will maintain process and utility equipment as well as building infrastructure related to manufacturing. You will support installation, qualification, and operation of new equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and provide effective repairs. This position requires close communication with leadership and accurate documentation of work performed. Shift: 6 PM - 6 AM 2-2-3 Location: Winchester, KY 100% Onsite The Role Support installation, qualification, and operation of new device assembly and fill processing suites and equipment Set up encapsulation machines, manage spare parts, troubleshoot, and optimize performance Assist in creating new preventive maintenance procedures, spare parts lists, and update spares management database Perform systematic preventive maintenance following industry best practices Provide quick and effective repairs as needed Communicate closely with Maintenance Leader and Operations Leader to ensure repair or preventive maintenance status is clear Use electronic work order and calibration databases to document work performed Perform other duties as required to support high performance The Candidate Minimum Requirements High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing environment in a maintenance technician position Experience with electronic work order, preventive maintenance, and spare parts programs for production, utility, and building systems Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electronic control systems and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based systems using equipment schematics and specialized testing equipment Familiar with use and operation of test equipment such as digital voltmeter, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators Ability to use hand and power tools Ability to use various electrical testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators Familiar with and able to read, understand, and use electrical drawings, system drawings, panel layout sheets, and wiring diagrams Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and bend for an extended period of time Specific vision requirements to inspect equipment and machinery Preferred Skills Background Associate degree or vocational certificate in a related field preferred Why You Should Join Catalent Positive and fast-paced working environment focusing on continually improving processes to remain innovative and dynamic Competitive Paid Time Off plus 8 paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision benefits effective day one of employment Tuition Reimbursement – support to finish your degree or earn a new one Site-based Employee Engagement activities such as NCAA Basketball Brackets, Golf Scrambles, Annual Onsite Pet Adoption Events, and Mentorship Partnerships with Local Schools Employee Resource Groups focusing on Diversity and Inclusion Environmentally friendly initiatives including Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up Defined career path and annual performance review process with potential for career growth WellHub program promoting overall physical and mental wellness Perkspot offers exclusive discounts from over 900 merchants in various categories Catalent offers rewarding opportunities to further your career!
