Maintenance Technician – Utilities About Site Catalent’s Kansas City facility is home to our Oral Specialty Drug Delivery, Biologics Analytical Services and Clinical Supply Services businesses. Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician – Utilities to join our team. This role ensures the maintenance and operational support of all plant facilities and utilities equipment to guarantee safety and uninterrupted operations. You will contribute to the success of the company by performing preventative maintenance and assigned tasks. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Shift: Tuesday-Saturday - 3rd shift hours 11pm-7:30am Location: Kansas City, MO 100% Onsite The Role Work independently and collaboratively across shift assignments with minimal supervision to perform daily equipment checks, water sampling and analysis, and emergency response procedures as needed. Follow all established Environmental Health Safety standards, safe work practices, and quality requirements including Lockout/Tagout and permits. Maintain compliance with established metrics, standards, and training requirements. Use schematics, diagrams, and drawings for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing, electrical, control systems, variable-frequency drives, programming logic, etc. Operate and maintain black utility systems and related equipment such as water softeners, de-alkalizer, boilers, steam and condensate systems, air compressors, fire suppression systems, and emergency generators. Operate and maintain utility systems and related equipment such as purified water storage and distribution, reverse osmosis, and pure steam generators. Drive continuous improvement for infrastructure, procedures, routine maintenance tasks, and spare parts inventory. Document all start-up, shutdown, repair, and return-to-service activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Documentation Practices. Capture data using logbooks, check sheets, work orders, and computerized maintenance management systems. Perform all other duties as assigned. The Candidate Minimum Requirements High school diploma required. 3 years of experience in facility maintenance and/or pharmaceutical, construction, plumbing, skilled trades, or Industrial Plant Maintenance required. Ability to read, use, navigate, operate, and troubleshoot using Building Management System, alarm screens, etc. Boiler license must be obtained within one year of hire date (paid for by Catalent). Physical Requirements: Standing and walking frequently; sitting occasionally; lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 lbs.; kneeling and reaching occasionally. Working Environment: Exposure to extreme cold, heat, humidity, wet conditions, noise, hazards, temperature changes, and vibration occasionally. Preferred Skills Background Associate degree or technical degree. Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, and engineering drawings. Licenses/Certifications: EPA Refrigerant Licenses, Universal CFC refrigerant certification, valid Operating Engineers License.
