[Source: SimplyHired] Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer specializing in ammonia refrigeration systems to design, estimate, manage and support industrial refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in ammonia refrigeration, heat transfer, HVAC&R systems, and applicable industry standards. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, energy-efficient, and reliable refrigeration solutions. We also desire a well-rounded individual that could assist with steam and ventilation systems. Key Responsibilities Design and develop refrigeration systems and components for industrial applications.Perform refrigeration load calculations, heat transfer analysis, and system performance evaluations.Select compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion devices, and other refrigeration components.Create engineering drawings & specifications, and bills of materialsEnsure designs comply with ASHRAE, ASME, AHRI, UL, EPA, and applicable local and international codes.Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of refrigeration equipment.Analyze system failures and implement corrective actions.Collaborate internally with electrical, controls and project engineering teams.Prepare technical reports, engineering documention, and customer support materials.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.3-7 years of experience in ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, or thermal systems engineering.Strong understanding of ammonia compression refrigeration cycles and heat transfer prinicples.Knowledge of refrigeration components, refrigerants, pipe design, and system controls.Familiarity with IIAR-2, ASHRAE standards and applicable industry regulations.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and meet deadlines.Establishing customer relationships with clientsPreferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.Knowledge of natural refrigerants (CO2, ammonia) and low-GWP refrigerants.Experience with industrial, commercial or cold storage refrigeration systems.Understanding of PLC controls and system automation.Key Skills Refrigeration System DesignHeat Transfer AnalysisHVAC&R EngineeringThermodynamicsRefrigeration Load CalculationsSolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CreoEstimatingProject ManagementProduct DevelopmentTechnical DocumentationWorking Conditions Office environment with frequent field visits.May require travel to customer sites, suppliers, or manufacturing facilities.Benefits Competitive salaryMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development and training opportunitiesPay: From $79,800.00 per year Benefits: 401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceWork Location: In person
