Manager, Reliability Engineering, Automation and Capital Projects About Site Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100 products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network. Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Manager, Reliability Engineering, Automation and Capital Projects to join our team. In this role, you will lead the site reliability engineering and automation team, ensuring equipment reliability, process improvements, and metric development. You will also guide process teams and manage day-to-day activities of process engineers. Additionally, you will lead the Capital Projects Team, maintaining the portfolio of capital and performance improvement projects to support the site’s improvement agenda and capital plan. Shift: Monday - Friday 8 AM -5 PM Location: Winchester, KY 100% Onsite The Role Work cross-functionally with maintenance, operations, finance, continuous improvement, and quality to drive process and equipment improvements. Improve and generate equipment reliability metrics to prioritize process improvement projects. Collaborate with maintenance management to manage and maintain the corrective work order program. Assist with the strategic capital improvement plan, including the site master plan. Maintain relationships with key equipment and process vendors to stay current with technological and equipment advances. Maximize production success by implementing programs to minimize mechanical failure and enhance equipment performance. Evaluate the performance of direct reports against job requirements and goals. Promote Operational Excellence, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies across workflows and lead Kaizen Events. Mentor and lead direct reports in root cause analysis and PR closure. Maintain focus and priority for process engineers to reduce deviations and close assigned actions promptly. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements throughout projects. Ensure direct reports are trained in cGMPs, company policies, and procedures related to their responsibilities. Address and provide training needs for direct reports, including process-specific training at OEM partners. Perform other duties as required to support Catalent Pharma Solutions’ high performance. The Candidate Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field required. 2 years of supervisory experience required. Prior experience managing external vendors. Experience in project budgeting. Hands-on experience with process, controls, and equipment engineering. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques. Strong leadership skills to organize and motivate multi-disciplined personnel for complex projects. Ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex technical issues. Strong project management skills. Interpersonal skills to foster effective interactions with peers, contractors, and governing agencies. Strong presentation skills to report on project status against plan and budget. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Individual may be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Specific vision requirements include reading written documents and frequent use of a computer monitor. Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience. Preferred Skills Background Master’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred. Lean Six Sigma Certified Black Belt preferred. Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Professional Project Management preferred.
