In this role, you will help deliver reliable HVAC controls solutions while working in a collaborative, safety-conscious environment. What you ll do As an HVAC Controls Project Manager, you will lead assigned control systems projects from planning through closeout. You will coordinate technical execution, customer communication, and project financial performance to help ensure each project is completed safely, accurately, and on time. Key Responsibilities Lead assigned HVAC controls projects through hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and project closeout. Direct subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative support as needed to keep work aligned with scope and schedule. Manage project financial results, including costs, billings, collections, and subcontractor payment processes. Maintain regular communication with customers throughout all project phases and pursue approved change orders. Coordinate material selection, ordering, budget, vendor pricing, and delivery schedules for assigned projects. Support owner and operator training, warranty follow-up, and delivery of accurate project documentation, as-builts, and manuals. Ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable state, local, and federal requirements and with a strong focus on safety and ethics. How You Will Do It Plan the work early, define the technical scope, and keep execution aligned with contract requirements. Use established standards for hardware design and software programming, then validate system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and field teams. Stay close to the jobsite and the customer by coordinating panel and field device locations, communicating technical and business issues clearly, and responding quickly to bulletin or schedule changes. Own outcomes with accountability for safety, integrity, and financial results. Track revenue, costs, and gross margin, and provide accurate monthly forecasts to management. Improve every day through candid problem-solving. Load and verify controllers, complete commissioning, and capture accurate as-built and commissioning documentation. Win as one team by coaching System Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers, and subcontractors so delegated work is accurate, on time, billed correctly, and within budget. Develop project plans, coordinate required resources, and keep communication steady with customers, contractors, consultants, Johnson Controls staff, and suppliers. Deliver owner and operator training, manuals, and warranty letters in a timely manner so each system is ready for successful handoff. Required Technical associate s degree with four years of field experience, or six years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC/building automation industry. Hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC/building automation controls systems. HVAC controls knowledge, customer communication skills, organizational skills, and proven ability to lead projects. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical material to a non-technical audience. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a field-based environment. Computer proficiency with Windows, Excel, and related business tools. Knowledge of control theory and HVAC/building automation systems. Familiarity with project accounting, costing principles, and contracting. Preferred Bachelor s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience with six years of field experience in the HVAC industry. Experience preparing status reports for upper management. A strong track record of supporting employee and subcontractor safety. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,400-130k(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
