[Source: SimplyHired] Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems used in large-scale industrial or commercial facilities. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of refrigeration equipment, supporting our commitment to operational excellence and safety standards. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.Troubleshoot complex refrigeration issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.Repair and replace refrigeration components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, and piping.Conduct welding and plumbing tasks necessary for system repairs or modifications while adhering to safety standards.Read and interpret HVAC design plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately diagnose system problems.Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.Assist with construction projects related to refrigeration upgrades or new installations in collaboration with contractors.Operate equipment such as boilers or other mechanical systems as needed to support property maintenance efforts.Utilize field service skills to respond promptly to emergency repairs or system failures ensuring minimal downtime.Support property maintenance initiatives by performing general HVAC/R work including appliance repair and air conditioning servicing.Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician specializing in ammonia refrigeration systems or HVAC/R equipment repair.Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in construction, plumbing, welding, and equipment repair.Ability to read schematics and technical drawings related to refrigeration and HVAC design.Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration safety protocols and regulatory standards is highly preferred.Experience operating diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices.Mechanical experience with boilers or other large mechanical systems is advantageous.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a driver vehicle if required.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.Strong communication skills for effective field service interactions and documentation.
