A day in the Life: Conducts and provides technical guidance on the development, qualification, and/or validation work in support of automated instrumentation and/or performs troubleshooting for own and others projects and/or automated instrumentation. Routinely acts as the technical project leader for multiple projects, interacts with clients as needed, reviews and evaluates data, and writes technical documents. Designs and executes development, qualification, and/or validation work independently and interprets and reviews analytical data for self and others. Plans appropriate experiments and schedules resources and work hours to meet expected completion dates. May serve as a Principal Investigator. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years). In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of all data generation and statistical programs Thorough knowledge of general chemistry, separation science, immunochemistry, molecular genomics, biomarker, and/or vaccine science related concepts and/or technologies (as applicable) Proven skills in complex automated platform software use and programming. Understanding of GxP requirements, PPD & client SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP requirements and FDA guidance Ability to operate and troubleshoot a wide variety of analytical instrumentation and data acquisition systems Proven analytical problem solving abilities Proven technical writing skills Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Ability to work in a collaborative team environment Physical Requirements / Work Environment Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with rare to daily exposure to electrical office equipment, irritants, radiation, toxic materials, biological fluids, fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures, and hazardous waste Personal protective equipment such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves may be required at times Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf Standing, walking, and twisting of upper body/neck required constantly. Crouching/stooping required daily. Kneeling and pushing/pulling of items required frequently. Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
