What You’ll Do Lead, direct, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations Coordinate preventative maintenance programs and equipment repair schedules Monitor and reduce machine downtime through efficient troubleshooting and repairs Diagnose and assist with resolution of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and PLC-related issues Promote and enforce a “Safety First” culture across the maintenance team Ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, and food safety standards Assist in training, evaluating, and developing maintenance employees Partner with production and operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation Perform additional duties as required to support business operations Work Environment Food manufacturing plant environment Exposure to temperature variations depending on production areas Use of industrial equipment and maintenance tools Weekend and off-shift work may be required based on operational needs How Military Experience Fits Military experience may be considered in place of civilian maintenance leadership experience requirements outlined below . Maintenance leadership or platoon/section supervision Equipment readiness and preventive maintenance programs Mechanical, electrical, or facilities maintenance roles Safety enforcement, compliance, and operational leadership Relevant backgrounds may include (not required ): • Army: 91B (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic), 91X / 91Z (Maintenance Leadership), 12R (Interior Electrician), 11Z (Senior Enlisted Leadership) • Air Force: 2A6X6 / 2A7X3 (Aircraft Maintenance Electrical Systems), 2A (Aircraft Maintenance career fields), 3E (Civil Engineering / Facilities Operations) • Navy: MM (Machinist’s Mate), ET (Electronics Technician), EM / GSM (Electrical Mechanical Operations) • Marine Corps: 1141 (Electrician), 2111 (Repair/Technical Maintenance), 21XX maintenance and engineering roles, 13XX engineering and utilities fields • Coast Guard: MK (Machinery Technician) Requirements (Must Haves) Education: Associate’s degree or technical program certificate; OR 5 years of related experience and training; OR e quivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment . Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a maintenance lead or supervisor with direct reports . Proven experience directing, evaluating, and training maintenance technicians . Technical Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and PLC systems. Experience developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs . Communication: Ability to clearly communicate ideas verbally and in writing . Strong listening and comprehension skills . Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word , Microsoft Excel , Microsoft Outlook . Basic PLC knowledge required . SAP experience preferred .
