The Sr. Manager, Safety/PSM provides strategic and operational leadership for environmental, health, safety, and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs at the site level. This role is accountable for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, driving a strong safety culture, and integrating risk ‑ based safety practices into manufacturing and operational activities. The position plays a critical role in protecting employees, maintaining operational continuity, and supporting DePuy Synthes’ commitment to safe, compliant, and sustainable operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage site Safety and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations. Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and management systems. Serve as the site subject ‑ matter expert for PSM, including hazard analysis, management of change, incident investigation, and mechanical integrity. Partner with site leadership, engineering, and operations to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks. Lead safety audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions; ensure timely closure of findings and corrective actions. Analyze safety performance metrics and trends to inform decision ‑ making and drive sustainable improvements. Coach, develop, and influence leaders and employees to strengthen safety awareness and accountability across the site. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree required in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred. Experience and Skills Required: Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in Environmental Health Safety (EHS), with direct responsibility for Process Safety Management in a manufacturing or regulated environment. Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex safety programs at the site or organizational level. Strong working knowledge of OSHA PSM standards and related regulatory requirements. Proven ability to lead investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action programs. Experience influencing senior leaders and cross ‑ functional teams to drive safety performance. Preferred: Experience supporting pharmaceutical, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing environments. Experience leading cultural transformation initiatives related to safety and risk management. Familiarity with global EHS management systems and corporate governance models. Prior experience working with regulatory agencies and during inspections or audits. Strong analytical, communication, and problem ‑ solving skills.
