Heavy Duty Mechanic

Almen Enterprises is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Johnson City team. This position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with no after-hours work, no weekend work, and no on-call requirements.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, values safety, and has the knowledge and experience to diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks
• Service and repair trucks, wreckers, rollbacks, trailers, and related equipment
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension, and driveline components
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
• Identify mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain accurate repair records and documentation
• Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Work closely with the Shop Manager to maximize fleet reliability and uptime

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a heavy-duty and/or diesel mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working on medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake systems
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to perform the physical demands associated with vehicle repair
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
• ASE certifications or equivalent industry training
