We are looking for a Service Technician to join our team. **About the Position:**

The Service Technician 1 will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of dairy wastewater equipment.

• Repairs machinery equipment following oral and written work orders.
• Reassembles complete units, tests function of pumps and mechanical units using auxiliary power. Test runs engines at various speeds and observes efficiency of operations.
• Ability to perform major and general repairs on all equipment. Assisting senior technicians with equipment setup, maintenance, and repairs.
• Learning safety protocols and industry standards.
• Basic troubleshooting under supervision of a Tier 2, or 3 Technician.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools
• Required to record labor and material used on each repair made.
• Required to take proper care and use of test equipment.
• Move large objects using heavy equipment.
• All other job-related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**

• Knowledge of machinery, electrical and other systems, and their components
• Experience with belt, chain, and direct driven machinery as well as chain, belt and screw conveying systems and machinery.
• Good verbal and communication skills
• Must be able to use and read tape measure.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License
• Welding Certificate (or obtain within 3 months of hire)
• Proficient in manufacturing math; multiplication, division, decimals to fractions, fractions to decimals
• Ability to use gauging equipment from .001” up, dial indicators, micrometers, feeler gauges, etc.
• The ability to climb and work from ladders and/or man-lifts.
• Must pass pre-employment M. A. T. testing & Fabricator Tool Tes

**Preferred Skills and Abilities**

• Previous experience working with Dairy Fields or Dairy Service
• Mobile Crane Operator Electrician
• Field Mechanic
• Welder
• Maintenance & Repair Work (general)
• Class A Driver’s License
• Parts removal, installation, and alignment
• Strong commitment to health and safety guidelines
• Critical thinking skills to solve job related problems.

**Environmental Conditions:**

• Dirt, grease, fumes, and airborne particles
• Noise from loud machinery Manure
• Hot/Cold temperatures
• Perform duties as assigned while following safety requirements, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

**Physical Demands:**

• Must be able to lift and pull weights up to 50lbs. to load/unload service unit in truck.
• Must be able to pull up to twelve” diameter lay flat hose from lagoon.
• Must be able to use 10lb. sledgehammer to drive in 3’ stakes.
• Must be able to use electrical tools such as grinder, hammer drill, three-eighth’ drill and circular saw.
• Must be able to use hand tools such as rachets, wrenches, screw drivers and snap ring pliers.

**Compensation:**

• $20-25/hr
