About Relocalize

Relocalize is transforming food and cold-chain supply chains through autonomous microfactories that produce packaged ice and cold packs directly at distribution centers, eliminating middle-mile trucking and reducing transportation emissions.

Our RELO microfactories combine advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, and industrial automation to bring manufacturing closer to the point of distribution.

Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, we're scaling our commercial manufacturing operations in the United States and developing the next generation of autonomous manufacturing technology.

About the Role

We're expanding our Plant City team and hiring multiple Industrial Maintenance Technicians!

As Relocalize scales production at our commercial microfactory in Plant City, Florida, we're growing our local operations and maintenance team to support increasing production demands and ensure our autonomous manufacturing systems operate reliably and efficiently.

We're looking for motivated, hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technicians with strong mechanical aptitude, industrial troubleshooting experience, and an interest in advanced manufacturing technology.

You'll play a critical role in monitoring our autonomous robotic production line, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting daily factory operations.

Working alongside our local team and collaborating with the engineers who designed our systems, you'll gain hands-on experience with industrial robotics, automation, and autonomous manufacturing.

For candidates demonstrating strong technical capabilities and leadership potential, this position may also provide a development pathway toward a future Site Lead or Supervisor role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations & Monitoring

  • Monitor the performance and operational efficiency of our autonomous robotic manufacturing line.
  • Identify equipment faults, production interruptions, and performance issues to help maintain reliable operations.
  • Replenish production consumables, including lifting and moving materials weighing up to 70 lbs in and out of freezer environments as cold as 20°F (-7°C).
  • Assist with staging and preparation for product delivery as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.
  • Follow established FDA and International Packaged Ice Association (IPIA) food safety and cleanliness standards, including monitoring for potential contamination and biological hazards.

2. Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Troubleshooting

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on industrial robots, conveyors, motors, pumps, and other production equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain production reliability.
  • Perform basic electrical diagnostics and repairs involving control panels, sensors, motors, and electrical systems operating at up to 480V, within applicable safety procedures and qualifications.
  • Conduct minor facility and process plumbing repairs.
  • Support the maintenance of facility systems, including refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment faults, and corrective actions.

3. Technical Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Receive technical training directly from Relocalize's engineers and facility designers.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement system improvements.
  • Support equipment adjustments, component replacements, and technical upgrades.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Provide practical feedback from daily operations to support improvements to current and future microfactory systems.

4. Team Collaboration & Facility Development

  • Work closely with the local operations team to support safe and efficient daily production.
  • Perform assigned maintenance and operational tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Serve as a reliable on-site technical resource for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures, operational best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate accountability, initiative, and the potential to take on additional responsibilities as the team grows.
