Lead Boiler Service Technician - Job Description ● Utilize your mechanical abilities to evaluate, troubleshoot and perform repairs along with preventative maintenance on commercial and industrial boilers/burners and boiler plant equipment in the Tri State Philadelphia area (PA, NJ, MD and DE) ● Perform combustion set-up and analysis as well as troubleshooting on a full range of burners from .5 to 30,000 MBH input on various fuels and low emissions requirements ● Perform hydrostatic testing of boilers ● Troubleshoot and install, initial start-up, commissioning, diagnosis, calibration, maintenance, and repair various DDC control systems including but not limited to Siemens, Johnson Controls, Autoflame, Fireye, Nexus, and Cleaver Brooks Hawk system ● Start-up, programming, upgrade and troubleshooting of VFD’s including Eaton, ABB, Yokogawa, Danfoss and Rockwell ● Provide assistance, coaching and mentoring to other Boiler Service Techs ● Able to perform and complete tasks with little supervision ● Minimum 10 years experience in boiler industry is preferred REQUIREMENTS ● An active understanding of all types of hot water and steam boiler support equipment to include deaerators, feed systems, blow down systems, economizers, pumps, waste heat recovery equipment and other pressure vessels. ● Knowledge of electronics, direct digital control (DDC) control theory, airflow, hydronics, heat transfer theory, pH sensors, flow meters, electrical meters and system control techniques ● Write clear and concise service report noting work performed and recommended repairs ● Exceptional customer service skills ● Superior planning and organizing skills ● Excellent work habits, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work ● Verbal and written communication skills ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team ● With a large service territory, a company service van will be provided. Overnight travel may be required. ● Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights without fear ● Valid driver's license with clear record ● Applicants must pass a pre-employment background check as well as initial and subsequent random drug screening tests.
