Diesel Technician/Mechanic
Compensation
The Role
Job Overview
Maestro Truck & Auto Service LLC is a family-owned, Christian-based business committed to providing quality maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services for a variety of vehicles and equipment. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic to join our team.
Experience in automotive, diesel, truck, or equipment repair is preferred. However, we recognize that no two technicians have the same experience or skill set, and we are willing to train the right candidate who has a solid mechanical foundation, a willingness to learn, and a strong commitment to their work. You do not need to have experience with every system or type of equipment we service to be considered. We are interested in candidates who can build on what they already know and are motivated to develop their skills further.
The position involves a variety of maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work on gas and diesel vehicles, trucks, RVs, and commercial equipment. The ideal candidate will have relevant hands-on experience, be able to work responsibly and efficiently, and be willing to take on new challenges as needed.
Maestro is a drug-free, smoke-free, and tobacco-free workplace. We offer a full-time position with compensation based on experience and qualifications, along with employee benefits.
Responsibilities
Duties will depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications and may include:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems using appropriate testing equipment and technical information.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine services.
- Repair and replace components involving engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, fuel systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, HVAC, and other vehicle systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems using wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
- Perform repairs involving hydraulic systems, air brakes, and other truck and equipment systems as qualified.
- Remove, repair, replace, and reinstall mechanical components as needed.
- Perform road tests and operational checks to verify repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized shop equipment safely and properly.
- Assist with or perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications when applicable.
- Maintain accurate repair records and document work performed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area.
- Work with other team members to complete repairs and keep shop operations running efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an automotive technician, diesel mechanic, truck technician, or equipment mechanic.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and repair procedures.
- Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical service information.
- Ability to follow repair procedures, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Relevant technical education, training, or industry certifications, such as ASE, is a plus.
We are also willing to consider candidates who do not meet every preferred qualification. A strong mechanical foundation, practical experience, dependability, and a genuine willingness to learn are important considerations. Candidates must be willing to accept instruction, develop additional skills, and take responsibility for their assigned work.
