Journeyman Electrician

The Role
Journeyman Electrician – New Construction & Commercial Remodels
*(No, we won’t send you to hang a ceiling fan at 4:55 on a Friday)*
We’re a commercial electrical contractor that spends most of our time on new construction and remodels. Occasional service calls for businesses, but if you’re looking for a shop that does a lot of residential, this isn’t it.
We’re looking for a journeyman who can read prints, run pipe, pull wire, and not need someone standing over them the whole time. If you can lay out a job, keep a couple of helpers moving, and still get home at a reasonable hour most days, we should talk.
What the work actually looks like:
- Commercial new construction and tenant finish / remodels
- A little service work (mostly for existing commercial customers)
- Almost no residential
- Real projects with real schedules, not a constant string of one-day “fix this” calls
What we’re looking for:
- Valid journeyman license (we’ll ask to see it)
- Comfortable with commercial work — conduit, panels, gear, reading prints
- Can run a small crew without constant direction
- Shows up, does the work, and doesn’t make everything harder than it needs to be
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- US Citizen with good communication skills
What we’re NOT looking for:
- Felons. We do work for schools and legally cannot have any violent felons on our jobs.
- Drug addicts. If you're going to be "sick" every Monday, then this job isn't for you.
- Gate keepers - We don't need anyone holding back apprentices from getting their own license.
Benefits:
- Health insurance after 6 months
- 6% matching 401(k)
- Company truck with a fuel card (we cover the fuel) - must have a driving record clean enough that our insurance will allow you to drive
- 1 week paid vacation after 6 months, 2 weeks after 1 year
- 7 paid holidays a year
- Steady work
Pay is competitive and based on experience. We pay what we say we will and we don’t play games with your hours. All employees get 40 hours consistently
Typical hours are 7am - 330pm Monday-Friday.
We do occasionally need to work overtime or a Saturday or Sunday to meet customer needs.
Our goal is not to get so much work that everyone is working 60-80 hours a week. Been there. Didn't like it.
If you’ve been around long enough to know the difference between a good shop and a shop that just talks a good game, give us a call or shoot over a resume. Tell us a little about the kind of work you’ve been doing and what you’re looking for.
