The Role

About the Role

Industrial Packaging is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. You'll troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment, support changeovers, and help prevent repeat breakdowns. We welcome hands-on problem-solvers with mechanical repair experience. Experience with our specific machine brands is helpful but not required.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, basic electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum issues; repair or replace worn or damaged components
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspect equipment for wear or damage
  • Support machine setup, product changeovers, and line startups; adjust equipment to improve consistent operation
  • Maintain cartoners, conveyors, glue systems, printers, checkweighers, and palletizing equipment
  • Use test instruments and machine alarm information to find faults; PLC programming is not a primary responsibility
  • Respond to breakdowns and work with Production and Quality to verify repairs and safely restore operation
  • Record repairs, parts used, and adjustments; share unresolved issues during shift handoffs and help teammates as needed
  • Follow lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and required PPE procedures

What You'll Bring

  • Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills gained through work, military service, or technical training
  • Industrial maintenance experience preferred; relevant automotive, diesel, or other equipment repair experience will also be considered
  • Ability to use hand tools and test instruments, with a working understanding of basic electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to follow technical manuals and mechanical drawings; familiarity with electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams is helpful
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school, trade training, or a maintenance certificate is a plus
  • Dependable attendance, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while asking for help when needed
  • Ability to complete company-required lockout/tagout, forklift, aerial-lift, and other applicable safety training
  • Packaging equipment, welding, fabrication, machining, hydraulic, and English/Spanish bilingual skills are helpful but not required

You do not need every preferred skill to apply. Tell us about the equipment you've repaired, the problems you've solved, and the skills you want to build.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working around production machinery, moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment

Why Join Us

  • Full-time second-shift work at our Webster, MA facility
  • Varied, hands-on work with opportunities to expand your mechanical and technical skills
  • A team that values safe repairs, clear shift handoffs, and helping one another solve problems
