This role focuses on maximizing machine uptime through robust preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical failures, and leading capital expenditure (CapEx) hardware improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with vendors to source specialized tooling and equipment upgrades to maintain asset readiness.
- Utilize maintenance work order data and machine logs to investigate root causes of mechanical failures, component wear, and structural breakdowns.
- Drive projects to eliminate recurring equipment downtime and maximize overall machine uptime.
- Lead the installation, commissioning, and optimization of hardware improvements for extrusion lines and ancillary systems.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train operators/technicians on equipment features, machine guarding, and LOTO safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Process Engineer to align machine capabilities with optimal process parameters (temperatures, speeds, pressures) to minimize mechanical stress and component wear.
- Maintain and upgrade downstream ancillary equipment (including vacuum pumps, water chillers, and pullers) to ensure synchronized line speed.
- Maintain, and troubleshoot the material handling infrastructure, including delivery systems, vacuum loaders, blenders, and scrap grinders/shredders.
- Manage and optimize the critical manufacturing utilities required to keep the extrusion lines running efficiently.
- Design and work with maintenance to execute predictive and preventive maintenance (PM) programs to minimize unplanned downtime.
