The Role

Your Mission: Keep a High-Speed, 24/7 Plant Safe, Reliable, and Optimized

=============================================================================

We’re looking for a safety-first, hands-on leader to guide our Electrical/Controls and Mechanics teams. You’ll drive reliability, eliminate unplanned downtime, and elevate automation performance across the plant.

What You’ll Own

-------------------

  • Safety Leadership: Enforce NEC, OSHA, LOTO, high-voltage procedures; uphold BRC food safety initiatives, GMP, and standard work; run safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow Electricians, Electro-Mechanical Technicians, and Mechanics while fostering integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Reliability Programs: Build and manage preventative and predictive maintenance plans that minimize breakdowns and maximize throughput.
  • Troubleshooting Expert: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control issues on high-speed production and steel-forming equipment; provide 24/7 emergency support.
  • Controls & Automation: Program and optimize PLC/HMI systems and process controls; upgrade legacy platforms (e.g., migrate Allen-Bradley PLC-5 to ControlLogix) and fine-tune automation for performance.
  • Project Execution: Plan and deliver mechanical, electrical, and automation projects—from scoping to startup—including reviewing schematics/blueprints and coordinating vendors/contractors.
  • MRO Excellence: Set/maintain min–max levels, support technical sourcing/selection, keep accurate inventory records, and ensure availability of critical spares.
  • Planning & Reporting: Schedule maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and production areas; audit the planning system and publish statistical reports; maintain complete documentation (work orders, logs, inspections).
  • Financial & KPI Management: Manage budgets, spare parts, and shop supplies; track and report maintenance/electrical KPIs and reliability performance.
  • Culture & Values: Ensure compliance with internal controls; model Trivium’s core values, respect, teamwork, and stewardship of company resources.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

------------------

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in fast-paced manufacturing.
  • 2–3 years in a supervisory/lead role preferred.
  • Experience in steel manufacturing and/or food processing is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency with AC/DC motors, VFDs, pneumatics, electronic instrumentation, and wireless technologies.
  • Skilled at reading electrical schematics/technical manuals; CMMS experience for work orders.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and team-building; high attention to detail and results orientation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure within a 24/7 operational environment.

Work Environment

--------------------

  • Primarily on the plant floor with frequent standing, walking, and manual tasks using hands/fingers.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; occasional work in non-permit required confined spaces (with training as applicable).
  • Regular lifting/moving up to 50 lbs (no continual lifting).
  • Vision needs include close, distance, and color; good hand/eye coordination required.
  • Loud environment—hearing protection and assigned PPE required.
  • Temperature variability from very cold to about 90 degrees; exposure to fumes, dust, and odors.
