This position provides leadership to the maintenance team, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinates equipment repairs, controls maintenance costs, and supports production requirements to minimize downtime and maintain customer commitments.

The successful candidate must possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities, with working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, combustion, electrical, and industrial control systems. Experience maintaining industrial furnaces and endothermic gas generators is strongly preferred.

**POSITION STATEMENT**

The Maintenance Manager will make decisions consistent with the Pinson Valley Way Values and the 32 PVHT Fundamentals. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable company policies, safety and environmental requirements, and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures while supporting PVHT's established metrics, scorecards, and departmental goals.

The Maintenance Manager is expected to lead by example, promote accountability, develop maintenance personnel, and continuously improve equipment reliability, workplace safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Identify recurring equipment failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat problems.
  • Coordinate equipment inspections, servicing, repairs, and planned shutdowns.
  • Maintain appropriate spare-parts inventory levels to support equipment reliability and production requirements.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacement when necessary.
  • Ensure plant equipment and facilities remain in safe, reliable, and operational condition.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are properly documented and performed in accordance with applicable procedures and quality requirements.

C. Technical Knowledge and Troubleshooting

The Maintenance Manager must possess the technical ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and coordinate repairs involving industrial mechanical and process systems, including:

  • Hydraulic Systems: Pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hydraulic power units, pressure controls, fluid systems, and leak detection.
  • Pneumatic Systems: Air compressors, pneumatic cylinders, directional control valves, regulators, filters, air lines, and pressure-control components.
  • Combustion Systems: Industrial burners, fuel trains, gas regulators, mixing systems, combustion air systems, ignition systems, flame safeguards, and temperature-control equipment.
  • Industrial Furnaces: Heating systems, refractory and insulation, circulation fans, atmosphere controls, temperature controls, thermocouples, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Endothermic Gas Generators: Generator operation and maintenance, gas-making systems, retorts, catalyst systems, gas-air ratios, temperature control, and troubleshooting of gas production and quality issues.
  • Electrical and Control Systems: Motors, contactors, relays, motor starters, variable-frequency drives, sensors, instrumentation, and basic industrial control circuits.
  • Mechanical Systems: Bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, couplings, pumps, motors, conveyors, lifting equipment, and other plant machinery.
