The Millwright, reporting to the Back End Area Manager, is a journeyman-level mechanical specialist responsible for the installation, maintenance, and mechanical integrity of the entire can production line. This role ensures the plant's operating capability by maintaining, fabricating, and testing high-speed machinery—from the cupper to the palletizer—to ensure the sustainability of company equipment.

  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the usage of hand and power tools to perform mechanical adjustments and custom fabrication.

**OPERATIONAL SUPPORT & EFFICIENCY**

  • System Knowledge: Apply a working knowledge of all automation standard practices to ensure mechanical repairs integrate with electronic controls.
  • Inventory & Parts: Use SAP and other inventory management systems to locate, verify, and report the usage of spare parts and support materials.
  • Defect Awareness: Stay alert and report any obvious defects in machinery or incoming material that could hinder production.

**TECHNICAL & SAFETY COMPLIANCE**

  • Safety Protocols: Strictly follow proper safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and regulating access to inventory resources.
  • Hazard Awareness: Stay aware of possible hazards while operating forklift machinery and working in high-speed areas.
  • PPE Adherence: Consistently wear all required safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.

**CRITICAL AVAILABILITY**

  • Maintain critical availability (on-call/shift coverage) to respond immediately to high-priority equipment failures in the spray or oven areas that halt production or compromise product safety.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:**

REQUIRED

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Technical Experience: Minimum of five years' experience as a journeyman-level millwright in a manufacturing operation.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and demonstrate proactive ownership to resolve issues.
