Selected candidates will be responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining boiler equipment and associated systems to ensure continuous and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers and related utility equipment.

- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain operational logs and comply with safety procedures.
- Support site-specific training and cross-training as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in boiler plant operations or industrial facility maintenance.
- Familiarity with building automation systems such as Metasys and/or Siemens Desigo.
- Relevant boiler operator licenses or certifications, where applicable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and equipment maintenance.
Contract Duration: 6-month initial term, with a possible 6-month extension.
Interested candidates are requested to share their updated resume, relevant certifications, and confirmation of availability.
For a plant boiler position requiring experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) like Johnson Controls Metasys or Siemens Desigo CC, employers generally look for a "stacked" combination of certifications. Because you will be operating heavy thermal machinery via software, you need credentials covering both boiler/stationary engineering and vendor-specific controls - Most jurisdictions require a state-issued or city-issued license (e.g., High-Pressure Boiler Operator, 1st/2nd/3rd Class Stationary Engineer).
- ASOPE (American Society of Power Engineers): Offers standard nationwide certifications for Boiler Operators and Facility Engineers.
- OSHA Safety Certification: (Specifically OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour General Industry) to validate safety compliance in central utility plants.
- Metasys Basic / Advanced Operator Certificate: Offered through the Johnson Controls Training Institute or authorized training networks like HVACRedu.net. These certify you in daily tasks, UI navigation, central plant scheduling, and managing critical alarms.
- Metasys FEC Systems Engineering / Custom Programming: Certifies you to use the Controller Configuration Tool (CCT) to program custom logic blocks specifically for complex central plant and boiler control applications.
- Desigo CC Master Operator Status: Granted by the SI Buildings Academy upon completion of sequential courses (such as Desigo CC Workstation I & II). It proves you can configure, operate, and troubleshoot the Desigo CC Management Station.
- Desigo CC Basic Engineering / Desigo PX/PXC Framework: Validates your ability to handle graphics, trend data logging, and open-protocol system integration (like BACnet or Modbus) connecting your physical boiler panels to the network.
- Niagara N4 Framework Certification: The Niagara platform dominates the building automation space. Stacking a Niagara N4 certification alongside a deep vendor certificate (like Metasys or Desigo) demonstrates that you can integrate modern "Smart Building" logic across various proprietary boiler and HVAC platforms.
