Field Diagnostics & System Startup
- Assist Field Technicians: Shadow and support senior controls technicians during system startup, commissioning, point-to-point verification, and preventive maintenance on commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Controller Setup & Checkout: Assist in uploading, downloading, addressing, and verifying Trane digital controllers (such as Tracer® UC, Symbio®, and legacy platforms).
- Sensor & Device Calibration: Learn and assist with sensor verification, wiring terminations, actuator stroke tests, and variable frequency drive (VFD) integration.
- Customer Interactions: Communicating directly the needs of customers, providing them with guidance and automation educational resources.
- Report Generation: Daily paperwork execution along with any BAS reports that need to be provided to our clients or teammates for building operations.

- System Graphics: Assist engineering teams with the creation and layout of system graphic interfaces (Tracer® Ensemble / Synchrony) to display live building operational data.
- Network Communication: Gain practical exposure to field communication protocols (BACnet IP/MS-TP, Modbus, LonTalk) and local controller area networks.
- Telemetry & Data Logging: Help capture and review system performance trends, logs, and diagnostic alerts to pinpoint anomalies in equipment sequences.
Project Execution & Operational Support
- Site Preparation: Coordinate with project managers and field service coordinators to gather necessary materials, wiring diagrams, software tools, and replacement components for daily job dispatches.
- Subcontractor Collaboration: Observe and assist with coordinating electrical and mechanical subcontractor activities during system installations or field retrofits.
