**Controls Engineer – Material Handling Systems**

**Conveyor Dynamics, Inc. (CDI) – Bellingham, Washington**

**Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus bonuses for extended field assignments. Part-time or contract position for remote working is also acceptable for experienced candidates. 1099 hourly rate $150/hour.**

Conveyor Dynamics, Inc. (CDI) is seeking a **Controls Engineer with approximately 3–5 years of experience** to join our engineering team located in Bellingham, WA. CDI specializes in the design, analysis, controls, and commissioning of large belt conveyor systems for the mining and bulk material handling industries.

For 45 years, CDI has designed and commissioned some of the largest and most technically challenging conveyor systems in the world. We provide key technologies to empower clean, efficient transport of millions of tons of minerals over long distances.

This position combines PLC programming and controls engineering with hands-on field commissioning. **Domestic and international travel is required.**

**Responsibilities**

• Develop PLC control program starting from logic flowcharts and then ladder logic, incoporating VFD drive control, mechanical brakes, interlocks, alarms, equipment protection, instrumentation, remote I/O, and plant control systems.
• Develop and modify HMI/SCADA systems.
• Review electrical drawings, I/O lists, and vendor documentation.
• Commission, test, troubleshoot, and tune conveyor control systems in the field.
• Work directly with clients, equipment suppliers, contractors, and plant personnel.

**Qualifications**

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately **3–5 years of industrial controls experience**.
• Practical PLC programming experience, including experience with at least one of **Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric Modicon**.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems and field commissioning.
• Familiarity with VFD and motors, instrumentation, industrial networks, and electrical control systems.
• Knowledge and experience in hydraulic and peunmatic control are preferred but not mandated.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot industrial equipment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

**Prior experience with conveyors, bulk material handling, mining, or other heavy industrial systems is preferred but not required.**

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
