Job Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Graphic Packaging International-Omaha, Maintenance Department Type of Position: Full Time-Hourly Position Purpose: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various pre-press, sheeting, printing, and finishing manufacturing equipment at an acceptable speed and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety. This is achieved through strong knowledge of electro-mechanics, PLC’s, the ability to troubleshoot various equipment problems, and adhering to all Safety Requirements and Rules. Job Functions: Troubleshooting: Confers with operators and observes, listens for unusual sounds, tests, and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctionDisassembles machinery and equipment to gain access and remove defective parts, make repairs, and then reassemble Installs, repairs, replaces, changes, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs Performs RCFAs (Root Cause Failure Analysis) on equipment failures Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of equipment and machinery Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear Completes daily work orders within the time frame specified on the work order Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate Inspects drives, motors and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, and performs other maintenance functions, following checklists. Transports machine parts, tools ,equipment and other material between work areas and storage using carts, fork truck, lift, pallet jack, etc Job Specifications: Minimum of a High School Degree, (Trade School Degree prefered.) Two years Electro-Mechanical experience, in a manufacturing environment, is required (Five years preferred.) Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees: Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods. Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures. Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required. Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF). Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
