[Source: Jobs.brassring.com] As a Maintenance Technician for the Publix Bakery Plant you’ll utilize state of the art instruments and industry best standards to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of a wide array of equipment. Our Bakery Plant produces award-winning products such as breads, rolls, cookies, pies, cakes, muffins, danish, dry mixes, fillings, icings, and glazes. Without our Maintenance Technicians, the Publix Bakery Plant simply couldn't produce the volume and quality of products needed to serve our customers. Our two bakery plants are located in Lakeland, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. One of the following positions is available: Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C. The position offered is contingent upon the qualifications and work experience of the candidate. Responsibilities include: Develop a knowledge base of plant maintenance including:maintain troubleshoot, repair, and improve the mechanical processes of the equipment/facilities at the Manufacturing plantperform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance of process equipment throughout the planttroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentcreate requisitions needed for parts and suppliesbuild steel, stainless steel and aluminum fabrications as required for process improvementweld stick, TIG, sanitary TIG, and Migtroubleshoot PLC and computer-controlled devicesperform minor plumbing, building repair, and maintenanceread and interpret schematics and drawingsoperate forklift, high lift, etc.perform housekeeping duties in the work area andassist with other duties as assigned. The required qualifications for this position include: at least 18 years oldbasic mechanical and electrical aptitudebasic knowledge of hand tools and tool usewillingness and ability to advancewillingness to complete a mechanical aptitude test (on or before hire date)excellent verbal and written communication skillsstrong problems-solving skillsself-motivated individualability to lift in excess of 50lbsability to work well with others and to be a team memberability to demonstrate safe work habitsability to work in a fast-paced environmentability to work well with others and to be a team memberflexible and willing to work various shiftswilling to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as neededexperience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the following: electro-mechanical components and systemspneumatic components and systemshydraulic components and systemsprocess instrumentationexperience maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs)experience troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs)documented PLC and instrumentation trainingexperience maintaining 480V C3 motor starters, variable frequency drives, and distribution systems experience troubleshooting 480V C3 motor starters, variable frequency drives, and distribution systemsdegree or certification from a recognized industrial maintenance or millwright training programability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawingsexperience testing, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining reverse osmosis (RO), carbon filtration, wastewater pH correction, and UV and ozone treatment systemsexperience in cleaning and maintaining water delivery systems; including valves, pumps and pipingexperience inspecting back flow preventers for proper operationstrong analytical skillsability to train othersprevious food plant experience
