[Source: Glassdoor] Job Summary We are looking for a proactive and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our meat processing facility. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the meat processing facility and supporting equipment. This role performs mechanical repairs, building upkeep, equipment installation, preventive maintenance, and emergency response tasks to minimize downtime and support smooth plant operations. Responsibilities Inspect, repair, install, and maintain building systems, boilers, floors, racks, HVAC, meet operational and safety standards.Perform repairs related to plumbing, electrical fixtures, lighting, painting, and general facility upkeep.Complete work orders (WO) and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks in the computer-based maintenance system.Maintain departmental tools, power equipment, and spare-parts inventory.Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, diagrams, and lubrication instructions.Use manufacturing tools for pressure, volume, and system continuity checks.Follow safety requirements including LOTO, fall protection, hot work permitting, and powered industrial truck rules.Qualifications Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a food-processing environment, with exposure to cold temperatures, humidity, machinery, and routine sanitation operationsStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProblem-solving in standardized situationsOrganization and time management skillsCommitment to safety and food-quality standardsGood reading, writing, basic math, communication and organizational skills.Requires regular walking, equipment checks, and occasional lifting.Pay: $25.48 - $30.46 per hour Benefits: 401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveRetirement planVision insuranceWork Location: In person
