This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behavior, which may lead to accidents. Continually endorse the Quality & Food Safety Policies, assure conformance to all requirements of the Quality & Food Safety Management Systems, & take action to properly report failures of these systems to site management. III. GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY • Responsible for repairs to plant equipment, installation of new equipment, and building maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. • Maintains a positive attitude amidst unplanned events and a willingness to be flexible with work volume and type. • A willingness to contribute to the greater plant as a liaison to safety, quality, engineering, or production programs. Key responsibilities IV. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. A. Essential Functions 1. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues without direct oversight. 2. Work safely with various hand tools, power tools, welders and cutting equipment to repair plant equipment. 3. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems/equipment throughout the facility (HVAC, plumbing, electrical). 4. Clean and maintain equipment and work areas, not limited to greasing bearings, replacing mechanical seals, rebuilding alcohol probes, cleaning procedures on scrubbers, cleaning procedures on acetators. 5. Display strong RCA skills when troubleshooting and perform complex repairs on electrical equipment; work with low voltage (DC), in addition to 120, 220, and 480 voltage/power (AC) not limited to relay timers, counters, amp meters, based on electrician guidelines. 6. Remove/install simple 3PH systems safely, identifying worn fuses/motors, replacing as needed. 7. Troubleshoot, set, and implement changes to Generator/ATS devices. 8. Troubleshoot SCADA, HMI, PLC, & VFD networking devices incorporated with equipment and or throughout the facility. 9. Perform installs/replacements on PVC pipework. 10. Respond to complex and general maintenance requests, not limited to replacing light bulbs, batteries, leaking faucets, or simple carpentry tasks. 11. Repair, assembly and installation of various valves, food grade and non-food grade. 12. Must be able to perform moderate to complex repairs on rotating equipment, such as replacement of seals, impellers, casings, and bearings. 13. Perform moderate to complex repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, work with ammonia and Freon with proper licensing. 14. Parts ordering – SAP lookup of process orders. 15. May lead smaller project tasks, coordinating with lower-level technicians. 16. Serves as “on call” outside of standard scheduled hours, as determined by the on-call schedule. During on-call times, must be available via phone and to come on site as requests necessitate. 17. Based on skill, may install sanitary and non-sanitary welded and threaded low pressure piping. B. Marginal Functions 1. Operate forklift and aerial lifts. 2. Help as required in the parts storeroom. 3. Contribute to plant-wide programs in safety, quality, engineering, or production. V. JOB SPECIFICATIONS A. EDUCATION High School Diploma or Equivalent required. 2 Year Degree from credited program highly preferred. B. EXPERIENCE 10+ years’ experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment required, or a degree/certification from a credited program with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred. Certification in industrial maintenance or electrical a plus. D. SKILLS Mechanical Repair, General Welding, moderately complex Electrical Troubleshooting, moderately complex PLC troubleshooting, moderately complex Carpentry skills, moderately complex PVC knowledge, moderately complex HVAC knowledge, problem solving skills, ability to use hand tools, hand-held power tools, and basic computer skills.
