The Maintenance Tech IV is responsible for installing, aligning, dismantling, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical systems across the facility while ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting production operations, and advancing McCain's Competitive Edge and Lean Manufacturing principles through a strong commitment to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP). What you’ll be doing. Take ownership of personal and team safety by identifying hazards, following all safety procedures, participating in audits and job hazard analyses, and supporting McCain's "Safety Starts With Me" culture. Install, align, dismantle, reassemble, and repair industrial machinery including conveyors, gearboxes, drive systems, pumps, motors, and production equipment. Diagnose mechanical equipment issues through inspection, observation, and troubleshooting techniques to determine appropriate corrective actions. Repair and maintain steam, wastewater, ammonia, hydraulic, and high-pressure piping systems. Perform fabrication and welding work to repair existing equipment and manufacture replacement parts as needed. Execute preventative maintenance and lubrication programs in accordance with established standards and OEM recommendations. Complete work orders, maintenance records, and equipment documentation within SAP and CMMS systems. Repair and maintain packaging, palletizing, material handling equipment, forklifts, and man lifts, while supporting warehouse operations as needed. Apply Lean Manufacturing and McCain Competitive Edge principles to support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence. Maintain reliable attendance and support operational requirements, including overtime, weekends, and holidays when required. What you’ll need to be successful. High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three months of related maintenance experience and/or equivalent technical training. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, gearboxes, drive components, and lifting systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, operating manuals, and technical specifications. Proven fabrication and welding skills utilizing welders, torches, lathes, plasma cutters, metal brakes, and metal shears. Experience using SAP, CMMS systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn and operate touchscreen production and maintenance systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including work order and maintenance documentation. Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving ratios, percentages, rates, and technical diagrams. Must complete the McCain Operator Training Program. Must possess or be able to obtain McCain Forklift Certification, Scissor Lift Certification, Boom Lift Certification, and Confined Space Certification. Valid State of Maine Driver’s License required. Ability to attend and successfully complete all required annual training programs. About the team.
