Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Electrician (Instrument Tech) to ensure hatchery equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation operate safely, reliably, and at peak efficiency. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical and control systems while supporting overall hatchery operations. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who can work independently and effectively coordinate with team members, suppliers, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to minimize downtime and maximize performance. Maintain hatchery equipment in a safe and efficient operating condition. Prioritize maintenance needs and respond to equipment failures in a timely manner. Monitor and maintain parts inventory in a cost-effective manner and within budget guidelines. Communicate equipment needs, maintenance concerns, and recommended solutions to supervisors. Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers, and outside vendors as needed. Provide guidance and support to Maintenance B and C employees. Assist with hatchery operations during emergencies or staffing shortages. Qualifications Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete assignments efficiently. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Welding experience and skills required. Ability to safely work from ladders and elevated surfaces. Ability to lift and move 50 to 100 pounds. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Experience with industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, motor controls, and automation. Experience in agricultural, food production, manufacturing, or hatchery operations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
