POSITION SUMMARY

Help keep our plant running safely and reliably by operating and maintaining critical utility systems that support production every day. In this role, you’ll monitor system performance, complete routine preventive maintenance, and handle basic troubleshooting across equipment like boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, HVAC, and water treatment. You’ll work closely with teammates across maintenance and production, while following safety, food safety, and documentation standards.

SCHEDULE DETAILS

Shift: B Crew Schedule: Wednesday – Friday, plus every other Saturday; 5:30PM – 6:00AM (overnight)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate utility systems safely, including start-up, adjustments, monitoring, and shutdown Monitor gauges, instruments, alarms, and readings to maintain proper pressure, temperature, and fluid levels Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on utility and facility equipment Respond to alarms and equipment issues; perform basic troubleshooting and escalate repairs when needed Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components such as valves, pumps, compressors, controls, and motors Partner with maintenance teams and contractors to support repairs, upgrades, and special maintenance projects Maintain accurate logs and records for inspections, readings, maintenance, and system checks; complete required documentation to company and regulatory standards Follow site safety and environmental requirements, including PPE use, chemical handling, and energy isolation (lockout/tagout) Follow quality and food safety requirements and report any concerns or incidents immediately Participate in continuous improvement, training, and housekeeping/organization standards (including 5S)

REQUIREMENTS

State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator or Third-Class Stationary Engineer License OR Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) 1 - 2 years of related work experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Ability to read and understand English for safety procedures, work instructions, and documenting maintenance activities clearly Ability to work off-shifts, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as needed Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): Able to lift up to 50 lbs, move throughout your shift, varying temperatures, and work safely in loud areas and confined spaces Preferred: Experience operating, repairing or maintaining boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and other utility systems Experience with ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls Knowledge of steam and water systems; basic understanding of boiler operations and safety procedures
