In this role, the Sr. Associate Facilities – Electrical Instrumentation at the Amgen Thousand Oaks (ATO) campus will be part of the Facilities Engineering team responsible for providing maintenance leadership and technical expertise in support of safe and reliable electrical infrastructure, instrumentation, and critical control systems supporting multiple manufacturing and utility operations across the site, and ensures: Support a safe working environment by complying with all pertinent environmental health/safety practices, rules, and regulations, including electrical safety and LOTO. Support the reliable operation of ATO site electrical and instrumentation infrastructure, including distribution systems, emergency generators, UPS systems, switchgear, ATS, field instrumentation, and control systems. Monitor system performance (electrical and instrumentation) and analyze trends to proactively identify risks to reliability, compliance, and process performance. Develop and execute maintenance strategies (preventative, predictive, corrective) for critical electrical systems and process/utility instrumentation (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instruments). Partner with operations, utilities, automation, and manufacturing teams to ensure uninterrupted support of GMP and non-GMP facilities. Work in a regulated cGxP environment to identify engineering and reliability improvements for site electrical and instrumentation systems. Define and support capital and expense projects related to electrical upgrades, instrumentation improvements, system modernization, and reliability enhancements. Serve as site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical systems, backup power, and instrumentation supporting process, utilities and facility infrastructure. Lead and support system improvements, including development of technical documents and SOPs. Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and incident investigations related to electrical systems, instrumentation failures, and control system issues. Support lifecycle management of electrical and instrumentation assets, including calibration programs, obsolescence planning, and asset replacement strategies. Maintain and manage electrical and instrumentation documentation including single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, P IDs, and equipment specifications. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, ISA, OSHA) and support site electrical safety and instrumentation calibration programs. Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities for electrical and instrumentation systems. Support emergency response and recovery activities for electrical and instrumentation system disruptions. Additional Skills: Understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems and integration with site infrastructure Experience with calibration systems and data integrity requirements in GMP environments Experience with power monitoring systems and SCADA/BMS interfaces Knowledge of seismic considerations for electrical and instrumentation equipment in California facilities Ability to support 24/7 operations, including off-hours support as needed What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
